Hello Everyone,
Happy New Year! I hope 2012 has gotten off to a good start for you.
As many of you know, our meeting next week marks a very special milestone: The Northeastern Oklahoma Cochlear Implant Support Group is having its sixth birthday. We will celebrate that special occasion with a birthday cake to share thanks to the generosity of the University of Tulsa Student Speech-Language-Hearing Association. If you see any of our students, please thank them in person.
Some of you have been a part of this group from the beginning, while others may be attending for the first time. All of you are welcome. It has been an exciting six years of learning and sharing. It is because of the dedication and involvement of each of you that we are continuing to learn how implantable technology changes lives. Thanks to each of you for providing information to the individuals and families who have come at all stages of having or thinking about getting a cochlear implant.
Next week we welcome back one of our favorite speakers, Paula Moore, Cochlear Awareness Manager for Texas and Oklahoma and a bilateral cochlear implant recipient. She is always full of tools, tips, and technology to meet your listening needs so come with your questions.
Please join us as we learn new information, meet old friends and new, and celebrate.

It’s that time of year when we ask for help from our community with our upcoming Souper Sunday fundraiser. And this help can be a lot of fun!
We have dozens of empty pots and baskets just waiting for you to “adopt” them, fill them with goodies, and return them to be included in our Silent Auction. Want to see?
Photos have been posted, thanks to Papa and Ray, at this address:
http://osdsaa.phanfare.com/2114318_6156861
Not only can you see some of the empty pots waiting for YOU, but you can see how beautiful some of the finished items look! Donna, our talented and creative volunteer, has the items looking more tempting every year.
Come in whenever we’re open to “adopt a pot or basket”. Perhaps you can gather a group, or a class, and have each person bring one item fitting a specific theme - you’ll end up with an AMAZING auction item! Or perhaps you work at a restaurant, or have an uncle who runs a car wash, or a friend who’s a dentist - ask if any of your connections might be able to donate a gift certificate in exchange for exposure for their business.
TSHA has always been an organization supported by grass roots, everyday people. We hope you’ll participate in this chance to support the work that we do.
Thanks!
