Children's Holiday Party!
TSHA’s annual Children’s Holiday Party will be held on December 4, 2010 from 2:00 – 4:00 at the Boston Avenue Methodist Church. It is located at 13th and Boston. Need a map?
It’s that time of year again to write our wish list and go to the mall to see Santa. And that is what we are offering for the Deaf, hard of hearing and speech impaired kids. On Saturday December 6th, at Boston Avenue Methodist Church, we will be providing free of charge- Children Holiday Party!
This is for children who are Deaf, hard-of-hearing, or speech-impaired and hearing children of deaf adults as well as their families. Come and enjoy refreshments, games, crafts, prizes, AND a stocking filled with goodies!! Best of all come at tell a signing Santa and a hearing Mrs. Claus what you want for the Holidays. You will also have a chance to get your picture taken with the signing Santa. ALL of this for FREE!!
To be able to make all of this possible we need your help! Can you volunteer to help at a craft table or game? Can you help with refreshments by buying a couple of packages of cookies? Or can you help by giving a monetary gift to help keep this event free for the kids and their families. We buy almost $800 worth of toys to put in 200 stockings to make sure each child receives a stocking. If you have any questions or need more information, contact Kirsten at kwilson@tsha.cc or Diana at dhiggins@tsha.cc or call us at 918-832-8742.
Thanks to the generosity of our financial contributors (see Contributions, in this newsletter), we were able to order almost $1000 worth of toys to fill 200 stockings.
Another new trend we saw this year is that more of the deaf children who have grown up attending TSHA’s party, are now coming back with children of their own. It was great to see everyone!!
We want to send a HUGE thanks to everyone – volunteers, sponsors, donors, teachers and families for their kindness and generosity.
